Why Traditional Mopping Makes Floor Gaps Worse

- Gently glide the tool through the gap. The knife provides the structural reach, while the microfiber fabric catches and grabs the dirt out of the slot without scratching the wood finish.
3. Maintaining Humidity Control The best way to prevent dirt from filling your floorboards is to minimize the gaps from forming in the first place. Investing in a high-quality, whole-house humidifier attached to your furnace during the winter months keeps your home’s relative humidity stable between 35% and 45%, preventing the wood from shrinking drastically.
