A common point of confusion for first-time clients booking recurring cleaning in Toronto is understanding exactly what’s included in a “standard” visit versus what falls under a deep clean or add-on service.
What a Standard Recurring Clean Typically Includes
- Kitchen: countertops, exterior of appliances, stovetop, sink, and floors
- Bathrooms: toilet, tub/shower, sink, mirrors, and floors, fully disinfected
- Bedrooms and living areas: dusting surfaces, vacuuming, and mopping hard floors
- Making beds (if requested) and general tidying of visible surfaces
- Emptying garbage bins throughout the home
What’s Usually Not Included (Add-On Services)
- Inside oven or fridge cleaning
- Interior window washing
- Laundry or dishes
- Organizing closets or drawers
- Wall washing or baseboard deep cleaning beyond a quick wipe
Why the Distinction Matters
Standard recurring cleans are designed to maintain a consistently clean home between visits — they’re not meant to replace an occasional deeper clean that tackles buildup in less frequently touched areas. Most Toronto cleaning companies recommend a periodic deep clean (quarterly or twice a year) alongside regular maintenance visits.
Customizing Your Recurring Clean
Most cleaning services allow some customization within a standard visit — prioritizing certain rooms, skipping areas you handle yourself, or rotating specific detail tasks (like baseboards) across different visits rather than every time.
Setting Clear Expectations Upfront
Reviewing exactly what’s included before your first cleaning avoids surprises and helps you decide whether any add-ons are worth including in your regular plan.
My Canada Cleaning provides clear, itemized service details for every recurring cleaning plan across Toronto and the GTA, so you know exactly what to expect at every visit.
